French triumph in Hollywood

'The Artist' was the big winner at the Oscars this year. A film in black and white, silent, which is said also to be invisible, since no one can see it, and probably wouldn’t have won anything if it were spoken and colored. Still, there is the tribute that the director Michel Hazanavicius rendered the old movies, something they did not deserve since no filmmaker from the 20s ever made a film in color to pay homage to the cinema of the present century. In the same line, we know the Nobel Prizes this year are likely to reward scientists who have the originality to discover what has already been discovered.
