Rick Santorum surprised America by dropping out of the Republican race to the presidential election in November, in which he was been losing ground to Mitt Romney. It's almost a law of physics: the more you repeat ‘no’ the closer you are to say ‘yes’. The hardness of moral principles is not enough to make a solid person, no matter how harsh and uncompromising they are, and the chance of losing at home in Pennsylvania can scare any elephant. As for multimillionaire Romney, he can finally take a deep breath and stop pretending to care about moral issues, the poor and all that humanitarian crap. He has made quite an effort to appear to have a heart; we even feared he might suffer a wallet stroke.

It looks like a plane, it smells like a plane, it tastes like a plane, but they call it a car
The U.S. is a huge country, almost as big as Americans think. As it is convenient to travel from New York to California without having to cross any customs, it is unpleasant to lose so much time going through the endless desert in between without having anything interesting to do. Maybe with this in mind, someone followed in the footsteps of the Wright brothers and created a car that turns into a plane. Actually, a plane that folds its wings so that, at first sight, it looks like you can drive it in a practical way in a city. Those who don’t think twice may soon purchase this mistake for $ 230,000, and have the pleasure of quit the taxi and come out of the airport disguised as mad scientists.

Death row in Connecticut will go nowhere
The state Senate voted to abolish the death penalty, being one step away from becoming the 17th U.S. state without capital punishment. Connecticut executed only one person in the last 50 years, and also fears errors which DNA tests now allow to detect. So, from now on, those convicted in Connecticut have no other choice but to stay alive. Its things like these that make people suspicious about public services: not only they have done one single job in 50 years, but they are afraid of making mistakes as well, eventually turning these inefficiencies into the law. If the service were to be granted to a private company, they would quickly understand why the words 'executive' and 'executor' are so much alike.

Former U.S. president is missing
Nobody knows George W. Bush present whereabouts. His absence has been particularly noticed at Mitt Romney‘s campaign for Republican nomination, especially after the candidate been endorsed by Jeff Bush and George H. Bush. Apparently noticed with joy, since George W. remains unpopular and is still seen as responsible for the state of the economy, and therefore his support would eventually undermine Romney. So if you see George W. Bush, please contact your local authorities and you might get a reward, especially if you are a Democrat or a supporter of Rick Santorum. If you support Gingrich or Paul, don’t bother to call.

Beyonce survives after receiving mouth to mouth resuscitation
Finally, something simultaneously extraordinary and true happened in California. The world's smallest dog, smaller than a hamster, a little puppy named Beyonce was born. In addition to the extraordinary size, she has a remarkable story of survival. Her mother was abandoned and was scheduled to to be put down, but gave birth to five puppies, the last of which was the little Beyonce, who only began to breathe after receiving mouth to mouth resuscitation. Now there are lots of people interested in adopting the little Beyonce (almost as many who would like to adopt the big Beyonce), but we believe that this story would have a truly happy ending if she was given to this man.

Man attacked by a lion is saved by a bear
Robert Biggs, 69, was walking through the mountains in California when he was attacked by a lion, but he was lucky to be saved by a bear that was nearby, with her cubs. Biggs was not accompanied by any other person, so it was he who went to tell this story to journalists. And they published everything as if it were true, when actually it was all made up for Biggs to explian his wife the scratches on his back made by his wild mistress. Either way, it’s becoming clear that people in California are in need of attention: they don’t stop creating awkward stories to appear in the news!
Incredible: chocolate will make you thinner after all!
Researchers at the University of California at San Diego came to a startling conclusion: chocolate not only isn’t fattening, but it makes people thinner. It is suspected that the same chemicals that make chocolate prevent heart disease prevents their fats to have their natural effect. But this is a modest effect, so if you really want to lose weight, our advice is you should eat tons of chocolates, while reading ‘The Caricaturist’. A word of caution about studies from California: sometimes they are completely useless, and in other times they are invented just to get in the news.

George Clooney caught naked masturbating in the middle of the street
Several Americans have sought to mobilize the world against violations of human rights in Africa, but have suffered some consequences. First, it was George Clooney succumbing to the pressure of the huge success of his video "Kony 2012". The famous actor was taken to a psychiatric institution after being caught naked masturbating in public. Now, Jason Russell was detained by the police after invading the Sudan Embassy in Washington DC. There are so many of these initiatives, we hope we don’t get confused and mix up the names of its protagonists. We wonder if William Bliss plans some intervention in African politics.
Naked man forced to carry nuclear bomb
William Bliss, a man from Johnson, Iowa, was arrested by the police when rambling near his home naked. He then complained that four men forced him to carry a nuclear bomb. Later, he acknowledged that he had been drinking vodka and beer all day. People use to say alcohol makes people more truthful, and nudity itself can be understood as a sign of this authenticity. If so, we really fear Bliss will be in trouble again when the four men come to pick up the bomb and he doesn’t remember where he left it.

End of the Encyclopaedia Britannica destroys pleasant moments of relaxation
After been printed for 244 years, the Encyclopaedia Britannica will exist only online, which will reduce significantly our research options. Before, every time we wanted to make some research, we had two choices: one was to get up, get into our slippers and dress our robe, go down the stairs, make tea, open the library door, turn on the lights, fill the pipe, light it and look in the 32 volumes of the Encyclopedia. The other was to look instantly at Wikipedia. Besides, what will people who planned to spend $ 1,395 to purchase the encyclopedia do now? Unfortunately, it will be available online for free for a week, starting on some Tuesday that no one says which one will be.

Prisoners of Connecticut will be force fed if necessary
The Supreme Court of Connecticut held that prisoners must be force-fed when they do not wish to do so by their own. This means the guards actually will have to hold any stubborn man who doesn’t want to eat and stick a tube in his mouth down which he will be fed – a practice described as barbaric. Based on our knowledge of the digestive process, surely the same court will soon determine that the prisoners will have to dump by force, if they willingly won’t. We look forward to know what will be the technique to apply then.

Man registers dog to vote
Thomas Tolbert, an American from Albuquerque, New Mexico, decided to have fun seeing if he could register his dog to vote. After having received the voter’s card for Buddy, he exposed how easy this fraud can be committed, since no one checks the data provided. But the county clerk, with a sense of humor that is typical of administrative professionals, has already said that Tolbert broke the law and now he must answer for what he did, being subjected to a penalty up to five years in prison. And if then Tolbert, a Republican, expects a favorable testimony by the dog, perhaps he will instead end up with a pee on his pants, for he registered Buddy as a Democrat.

French triumph in Hollywood
'The Artist' was the big winner at the Oscars this year. A film in black and white, silent, which is said also to be invisible, since no one can see it, and probably wouldn’t have won anything if it were spoken and colored. Still, there is the tribute that the director Michel Hazanavicius rendered the old movies, something they did not deserve since no filmmaker from the 20s ever made a film in color to pay homage to the cinema of the present century. In the same line, we know the Nobel Prizes this year are likely to reward scientists who have the originality to discover what has already been discovered.
